„Multimodal Literacy“

„MULTIMODAL LITERACY“ ( 2021-1-EE01-KA220-YOU-000028521) is Erasmus+ partnership project that has focus on the creation and testing educational materials about creative drama, media literacy and digital storytelling. The partnership structure is consisting of different organisations and institutions from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Lithuania, Portugal and Turkey under the coordination of Estonian NGO „Mitra“.

MULT-LIT project activities are empowering youth workers, leaders, and trainers with materials and tools ensuring the integration of young refugees into European society, schools and the business world.

MTÜ Mitra organised the kick-off meeting in Tallinn, Estonia, on December 17-18, 2021. Second TPM was organised on Pico island, Portugal, on August 1-4, 2022. Final meeting will be in Prague, Czech Republcic, in September 5-6, 2023.

Two meetings with project partners were organised online: on May 26, 2022 and December 9, 2022. The first meeting on Zoom was devoted to the work on Result 1and preparation to the LTTA in Istanbul and the TPM in Portugal. The second meeting was devoted to the work on Result 2 and LTTA in France. The online preparation meeting of national teams (youth workers and students) was organised before the LTTA in France. It was organised on January 16, 2023.

Partners work on project results:

Result 1: Youth Work Ensuring the Integration of Young Refugees Training Course Format.

Result 2:Multimodal Literacy Tool Kit. The topics are creative drama, media literacy and digital storytelling.

Result 3: “Integration by Multimodal Literacy” Web Platform.

Partners completed:

· International Piloting Joint Staff event which was organised with the participation of trainers and youth workers from partner organisations in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 14-16, 2022. 28 participants from all partners countries attended this event.

· International Piloting Blended Mobility of Young Refugees with the participation of young people from partner countries which was organised in Nice, France, on January 23-25, 2023. 45 participants from all partners countries attended this event.

LTTA1 was organised in Istanbul. Estonian and French teams organised bingo game to introduce participants to each other and few media literacy activities. Bulgarian and Lithuanian teams organised ice breaking activities with creative drama techniques. Czech and Portuguese teams made an overview of digital storytelling and presented a sample on how to use creative digital story. Participants received certificates of attendance from the host organisation.

LTTA2 was hosted by Mitra France team in Nice. The first day was devoted to the teambuilding activities, media literacy and digital storytelling sessions. There was also a study visit to Marc Chagall museum. The second day was about creative drama and refugees’ stories sessions. Participants visited LE HUBLOT and learned how this NGO works with young people from local community on digital education and video production. On day 3 participants – young people and youth workers – participated in “Where do you stand” activity about refugees and migrants and in reflection game with Percipio cards. There were study visits to museums and parks organised in this day. Participants of LTTA received Youthpass certificates.

Partners will organise multiplier events in own countries in August 2023.
