"Mittetulundus hing "Mitra" is non-governmental organisation founded in Estonia in 2012 by volunteers with experience in European projects. The primary goal of "Mitra"' is to develop and reinforce networks, increase capacity to operate locally and at transnational level, share and confront creative ideas, practices and new methods. "Mitra" shares experiences and good practices in non-formal education through training courses, workshops and work on different projects and activities.

Mitra" provides lifelong learning for people with different cultural and social backgrounds and in different ages, including people with fewer opportunities, with the aim to motivate them to learn, be active and not socially excluded. NGO provides the opportunities to participate in training, to share knowledge, skills and experiences, to communicate with other people and to learn new skills. It gives also chance to learn more about people from other cultures and to find together solutions how to solve common problems.

Adult education

Mittetulundus hing Mitra has extensive involvement in adult education, particularly in the fields of non-formal learning, media and digital literacy, critical thinking, sustainability, and social inclusion. Drawing on decades of experience in educational and cultural activities, the organisation designs and delivers learner-centred training for diverse adult groups, including seniors, women, migrants, refugees, NEET and other people with fewer opportunities. NGO work in adult education is characterised by practical methodologies, strong intercultural and intergenerational approaches, and close cooperation with educators, trainers, and civil society actors across Estonia and Europe. Through its experienced team of educators and a wide volunteer base, Mitra contributes to strengthening adults key competences, civic engagement, and lifelong learning capacities in a rapidly changing social and digital environment.

Youth work

Mittetulundus hing Mitra has experience in youth work and close cooperation with different stakeholders, focusing on strengthening young people s key competences through non-formal and informal education. NGO brings youth work to life by building inspiring bridges between educational institutions, different organisations, and the wider community. Mitra works actively with young people in age 13-30, youth workers, and teachers, supporting learning processes that complement formal education with practical, participatory, and skills-oriented approaches. Youth work emphasises media and digital literacy, critical thinking, active citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion. Through its strong network, Mitra contributes to improving the quality of youth engagement in schools, VET schools, universities and youth organisations, empowering young people to become active, informed, and socially responsible members of society.
